I am trying to control my Korg ESX1 drum computer from a Kyma sound, but I seem to be getting no success with the MIDIController sound... I'm sending a MIDI controller number, that I know is correct ( like 7 for example ) but it just doesn't seem to do any controlling - What scale should the Value parameter be? Is it 0 -> 1 that gets mapped to MIDI 0->127 or should it be 0-127 in the Kyma MIDIController sound?

Should I be triggering the MIDIController sound?

to test things , I made this little script feeding the variable ?ccNumber that sits in the controller number field of the MIDIController sound called ccOut ...

ccOut start: 0 s ccNumber: !cc

This script doesn't seem to work either - is it correct? - do script sounds send out the variable again when the hot value changes ( i.e. !cc ) ?

Cristian, as far as I know the Value field expects a 0-1 range (so you can use a pasted sound, as well as !HotValues and scripts that fall within that range). Also, the ControllerNumber field does not take hot values, only fields with a cyan background can take hot values. Therefore, within your Script Sound, controller number should be an actual number rather than a !HotValue. That may be causing the problem you're experiencing.

I once had a problem getting the MidiOutputController to work, and it turned out to be the MIDI cable I was using! Hope you manage to get it working.

By the way, one of my favorite uses for the MidiController Sound is a !HotValue along with some jitter script to add a little controlled randomness to the MIDI output:

!HotValue + (!JitterAmount * (!JitterRate s normal smooth: !JitterRate s)).

thanks Jack.

Yes , if i replace the hotevalue with a number in my script, it does work.

I suspect its something to do with the Korg drumcomputer then..
