i recently heard about a dbx subharmonic synthesizer wich i guess is like an extra low frequency filtration/ eq/ finalization unit geared at creating powerfull low frequency energy- just wondering if this is just a bunch of hype that can be otherwize created using kyma or even the tc finalizer. seems sub audible frequencies can easily be tuned and synthesized on many platform- say the amplification of the natural oxidizing process of rust- that shit is REALLY low frequency it might need to be scaled in time to only occur within a few seconds rather than years to be audible- or what about cosmological systems like births and deaths of solar systems and momenary chemical existences that take (to our limeted bandwidth of perseption) billions of millenia. or the high frequency energy of electromagnetic radiation beyond even our bandwidth of visual perseption- psychoacousicly, this to must have some subtle powerfull effect, though we are yet to synthesize and manipulate this energy in the prototype bar. just some thoughts to get off track on.
anyhow i would be interested on any thoughts on "sub" or "super" harmonic synthesis. any references you folks could have me reading could be fun i like learn

I can't remember where I've read that, I think it was on this forum

It was about a VERY low frequency detected in the universe,
a period of a few thousand years if I remember correctly...

You might give Kyma a chance since it can run for 2 years!

Yesterday, Nik Green (of The Away Team) told me about something called the "Taos Hum". http://www.crystalinks.com/taoshum.html

For generating subharmonics, please take a look at the SubBass prototype (you can find it using Ctrl+B and typing 'sub').

One trick I have used for "listening" to subaudio signals is to use the signal to modulate another, audio rate signal. In other words, use the subaudiio signal to control a parameter of an audio signal.

I'd be interested by a sample specra of the earth "hum".
Messiean used to translate (in musical notation) and slow down bird's chant;
why not speed up the earth's chant?
