Author | Topic: tracking live performance vs operator input |
phillipm Member |
![]() ![]() ![]() While I have a fair amount of experience using Kyma to create audio files for concerts and videos, I'm a complete novice when it comes to using it in live performance with acoustic musicians. I'm wondering where/how other users draw the line between automation (i.e. programming Kyma to just do it ... i.e. follow the performance and respond appropriately) and live input from computer operator telling Kyma when to do what. I'd love to hear some ideas and strategies on how they balance these opposing solutions from those with experience in the matter. As a current strategy, I'm trying to see how much I can get Kyma to do with the least amount of direct user input ... mainly because I think it will help me better master CapyTalk (and maybe even SmallTalk). I suspect this approach may eventually change as I discover more about the capabilities, limitations, and practicalities of this approach. Meanwhile, I'll be posting some of my technical questions under "Tips & Techniques" for those interested in that sort thing. IP: Logged |
