Just wondering if Kyma supports the Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch graphics tablet (or the Bamboo Fun / Craft series) - or if will be.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, we have confirmed that the Wacom Bamboo Pen + Touch is working with the Wacom driver 5.2.1-3. You can use the Pen for controllers & key events and the fingers for mousing.

My Bamboo arrived today!

I can confirm that Kyma also works with the Wacom driver 5.2.4-4, however it seems that that the Bamboo Pen does not support the tilt functions.

Perhaps only the Intuos pens have the Tilt facility?

I'll need to investigate this some more...

I think the tilt is available only on the Intuos series.

Thanks for the info.

Of course, now I'm wondering if there are methods in Kyma to access the Pen parameters using Smalltalk, rather than using the Pen in mouse mode?

For example how would I access !PenZ in SmallTalk?

You could use !PenZ in a CapyTalk expression, for example:

!PenZ gt: 0.5

Actually I wanted to access these parameters inside a .pci tool - hence I thought I would have to be using SmallTalk.

Can I use CapyTalk code in a .pci tool?

SoftSwitch.kym

Is it possible that !PenDown responds in the same way as a !KeyDown does?

For example, currently in the attached sound consecutive PenDown events abruptly cut to the next sample.

Using a MIDIVoice together with a smooth on the scale doesn't alleviate this.

Any ideas how I might achieve this?

Not sure whether this would be helpful or not, but did you know that you can send !KeyDown with the eraser end of the Wacom pen?

"we have confirmed that the Wacom Bamboo Pen + Touch is working with the Wacom driver 5.2.1-3"

I guess that this also means that Wacom Bamboo Pen (just Pen ver.) is supported?
sorry if it is a stupid question ...

Hi Samuel,

We think so (we did not try the pen-only version, but we assume it should be a subset of the Pen+Touch).

Thank You for reply

I love mousing with "raton" so I would prefer just "Pen" version..
so I guess I'll have to try and let you know ...
