![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, I have been playing around with synchronising the timeline to my other equipment today and I've come across two things I would like to check: Using the beta AVC Flame firmware, trying to send the MTC sync over the Flame virtual midi port the timeline does not seem to respond to MTC at all. Is it not possible to sync the timeline via the Flame virtual midi port? Once I set a timeline to respond to MTC and send the sync signal in via the hardware midi port the timeline constantly plays, by which I mean that even when I stop the sync source the timeline keeps going. And not only does it keep going, it becomes impossible to stop it! If I press the pause button on the timeline, it immediately restarts. If I press control K, it immediately restarts. The only way to stop the timeline is to start another sound. Even then, if I stop this other sound and say, for example drag a new sound into the timeline, it once again magically restarts. No sync is being sent once I stop the sending and I've tried various timelines. Always the same problem I guess this is not the expected behaviour? Am I doing something wrong? ![]() ![]() ![]() Same here on #1: MTC does not seem to make it through the AVC virtual MIDI port. Note/Controller messages are fine. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Correct. MTC is not forwarded through AV/C. Will look into it. Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() OK, I'm glad number one isn't just me! But, more importantly to me: how about the second problem I describe. I can't understand why when I try to sync a timeline it goes into a loop of constantly playing that is unstoppable! David IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() quote: Without wanting to moan too much, I don't really feel that my original issue with synchronising the timeline has been answered here at all. To reiterate the point: Why does the timeline play constantly once it it set to synchronisation, even if there is no MTC sync being sent to the timeline? Surely the behaviour should be that the timeline only plays when receiving sync? I would expect that when I stop my DAW the timeline goes quiet. Or am I missing something? David IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi David, I tried it just now, switched my Timeline from Free Running to TimeCode, then did a ctrl+Space to play the Timeline and it dutifully froze the yellow cursor, waiting for time code input. Is it possible that something really is sending MTC to Kyma even though you are not asking for it? Is the yellow time cursor moving? Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, I did some more testing this evening, as soon as I set the timeline to synchronisation it enters "constant play mode" as described. To double check there was no MTC I even tried it on a fresh boot, with no sequencer software running, load up any timeline, change the timeline to synchronisation and boom "constant play mode". Could it be something to do with the fact I have a Capy-LS? There's no physical sync input for example.... Any suggestions welcome (although I realised a work around is just to switch the timeline back to free running, so at least I won't go completely crazy!) TIA David IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Bump! Just wondering if anyone else (particularly users without physical MTC connectors on their hardware) experiences this or have I once again found an issue that only happens to me? IP: Logged |
