![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, I use Max as an interface between my external midi controllers (also Wii and Wacom tablet, etc) and the Capybara (sending to Kyma via OSCulator). I would like to set up soft-takeover of Kyma widgets within Max (so that the virtual fader doesn't move until the physical fader crosses the virtual fader's value). The only thing I lack in order to make this happen is that I need Kyma to send the value of the widgets in the VCS out of the Midi Out, which I could then bring into Max. In fact, the MotorMix option in preferences will already cause Kyma to send midi out with VCS changes, and I experimented with having that option enabled. However, I would like another option that works slightly differently: with the MotorMix option enabled, the cc's are sent out numbered in the order that the appear from top left to bottom right. What I would like is for them to simply send out on the same midi controller number and channel that they are set up to receive on. Actually, this would cause a conflict with a feature request I made a few days ago, that multiple widgets in the VCS could receive and respond to the same midi controller. I imagine the way to handle both feature requests would be to make the midi out an option that can be disabled on a per-widget basis, in the same way that you can currently disable a widget from being effected by presets or dice. Or maybe they could be assigned to be sent out wherever you want to send them, but the default would be that they send out the same cc that they receive on. I hope that this might be doable. thanks, IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() I forgot to say - once this feature becomes available, I'll post a standalone (and regular, for Max users) patch on the Tweaky that implements soft takeover. So then when people ask for it you can point them there ![]() [This message has been edited by Phi Curtis (edited 02 April 2008).] IP: Logged

I've taken a stab at creating some soft takeover sounds entirely within Kyma. See the attached, the examples have notes that hopefully explain what is going on in them. They are still a little buggy, so if anyone has any suggestions about making them more solid I'd appreciate it. The end goal is to create a class that allows you to choose between different input controllers, defined in an array of possible controllers. You would choose between them with an index and the transitions between the old controller and the new controller would have soft Takeover between them (ie the values wouldn't jump). Take a look...when I have something I'm happy with I'll put it on the Tweaky. IP: Logged |
