two problems i canīt figure out to solve in kyma:

1.) how would i write a script that takes a soundfile and analyses where the amplitude exceeds a threshold. and then puts out a list with values describing the time when these transitions in the sample occure.
i would then like to use these values to slice eg. a drum pattern...

are there any summer classes or kyma user meetings coming up in europe???

Hello Michael,

Do you really want the output as a text file with a list of times? Or would you prefer to generate a gate signal for the DiskRecorder Sound?

For example, if you check the Gated parameter of the DiskRecorder and use a Threshold Sound as the Trigger input, you could record a new sample containing ONLY those sections of the original that exceeded the threshold amplitude.

In other words, how would you like to use the list of times? To create a separate sample for each "drum hit" so you can put them closer together or further apart for different tempi? Perhaps by using the DiskRecorder method described above, you could easily see where to separate out each hit in the newly generated sample(?)

Regarding courses in Europe... At the moment, we don't have any scheduled for the summer. There *may* be some Euro-workshops around October 03.
