Take a look at this unit:
http://www.mobl.com/products/product.asp?ProductID=1124

If I use this unit on my Powerbook ("Pismo"), will I get as good disk performance on my Kyma as when using Kyma on a PCI Mac?

Disk performance on the Powerbook+Kyma is not good, and since the above unit is now only $125 (via deal-mac) I think it sounds like a fine offer.

Anyone have any experience with the unit? Can peripherals such as the Audiomedia III audio card also be used without problems?

It looks like it would *probably* work, but we haven't tested this unit, so we can't say for certain. If it works with a cardbus interface, the performance should be close to PCI performance. (The performance may be less because the SCSI controller and the Capy PCI card would be on the same PCI bus. On a desktop computer they are on independent PCI buses).
