![]() ![]() ![]() Since I now have some symbolic power (a couple of Pacas and a Capy) I would like to directly edit to a video via SMPTE/MTC but am having some problems I hope others might have worked around. On the DSP/STATUS screen, the timecode is being received perfectly. When I move to the timeline (which contains only a copy of the current audio track for comparison), I find that I have to manually move the cursor to the beginning (or at least to a point before the time of my video) or the timeline will start where it previously left off and not sync to TC. Also, the syncing does not seem to be consistant. I'll get a set delay (which I can offset for) but every once in a while, the delay will be way off. Anyone else working with TC? Any suggestions? J. ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, this isn't very helpful, but FWIW I've done lots of timeline syncing to incoming SMPTE (LTC) -- not MTC -- on the Capybara 320, and have not experienced any failure to chase timecode, including random jumping around. In previous versions of Kyma, it was necessary for the timeline to be in focus before the chasing. I've done a little bit of MTC chasing too, with no problems, but I've generally preferred LTC as it seems to give a better lock and doesn't eat up MIDI bandwidth. Is it possible that the problem is the 'midnight' problem? I.e., have you tried setting your timecode base to something like 1:00:00.00 instead of 0:00:00.00 to avoid possible negative values around the beginning of the timeline? -Luddy IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you for the reply Luddy - I was hoping others who sync to the Paca would have some insight. I have not had a whole lot of time to experiment with this but am getting back to it now and will update if I find anything else out. IP: Logged |
