![]() ![]() ![]() Can anyone recommend a whisper-quiet *firewire* hard drive besides Glyph? I have nothing against Glyph, I just wonder if anyone can think of alternatives. Glyph is changing some of their product line, so some of their tabletop drives won't be available until mid-Aug. Thanks, Mark IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I use LaCie d2 and pocket firewire drives. The d2 is a larger size and has no fan. I have 500GB and 250GB models. The 500GB has two drives in it and the 250GB one. The 250 enclosure is physically quite compact. Both are very quiet and I find neither intrusive. In the past I had older LaCie desktop drives in a plastic case with a curved blue front. They had fans and produced an irritating wine. av IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() www.macsales.com OWC has some decent firewire drives. i use an (old) rackmounted Glyph for my audio work, but i have a 40 gig OWC drive attached for extra storage. it has no fan, is quiet, and has given me no problems.
