Hi all,

I use a Wacom as mouse replacement and am wondering wether it would be possible to attach a second Wacom and dedicate that to Kyma; specifically, I'd like to use one for sound control while at the same time using one as mouse replacement. Switching back and forth between modes just does my head in & I'd really like my studio to stay mouse-free...

I really would like to use a Wacom dedicated to Kyma (even if it is in the background) and one to use with my DAW.

All the best

Unfortunately, at the moment it's not possible to have Kyma/Wacom in both modes at once. We will look into it. In the meantime, maybe the Apple magic trackpad could be used as a mouse alternative?

Nice! Maybe part of the solution would be to attach the Wacom to the Pacarana directly; if it had its own Wacom driver, maybe it could claim the tablet and "hide" it from the host computer. You tablets is belong to us ;-)

Hmm, nice idea, but the cool thing about the Wacom as mouse replacement is the absolute positioning --- your hand can start to "remember" positions on-screen which makes for a faster and more effortless workflow. IIRC the Apple thing is like a Laptop "drag pad", so from an engineering perspective basically kind of an inverted mouse ;-)
I'd rather use a replacement for the Wacom in sound mode, like an iPad running KymaControl. This will be missing the pressure/tilt parameters, but makes up for that with multiple emulated pens and various modes. The only thing that I'll really be missing in that setup is the haptic side of the Wacom, physically holding a pen that has weight and causes stick/slip effects on the Wacom surface etc does make the whole process more....erm...well, different lol.
