I have a folder full of samples of different lengths. I would like to randomly select one, play it all the way through, then randomly select another, play it all the way through, and so on.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Here's an example Sound that randomly selects and plays one sample after another from a folder. It first asks you to select the folder, asks how many times you'd like to randomly select and play, and asks for a seed for the random number generator (for repeatability if desired).

For some amusing results, try it on the folder called Phonemes in Kyma/Samples.

Thanks. This will help.

Interestingly, the *only* folder I have a problem with is the Phoneme folder. When I try to use it, I get this error:

Error: This message needs a positive integer argument.

It works fine on every other folder I try...

Well, that wasn't exactly the amusing result that I had in mind... Maybe it requires the RAM variant (rather than t he disk variant?)
