This might be a bit pre-mature as Kyma X hasn't been released yet but...

I'm aiming to get a new computer in the next couple of months and I've been drooling over the new G5. When Kyma X does come out, do you think it'll be okay on these machines? I only ask because I heard Digidesign was having problems running ProTools on them and I believe they are currently making revisions to accomodate this.

No big worry. I'm sure my current 667 G4 laptop will be fine but it's been running kinda slower with Jaguar on it... I hope you don't find this question annoying.

We don't anticipate that there should be any problems, though we don't actually have a G5 yet for testing.

I have also been following this development with the G5s and PCI cards. From what I gather is that PCI cards that do not conform to a 3.3V supply (i.e. 5V), and/or don't have a 'standard' layout/configuration for the power connector, will not be supported in the G5s.

I happen to use the FireWire interface for my Capybara, though.
