i'm posting this here because i wasn't sure where to put it on the Tweaky. if SSC wants to move it to the Tweaky, that's fine by me.

so.... i was thinking, as someone who really benefits from learning-through-watching.. i think i'd learn a lot about Kyma by learning how a particular sound is made and what each module (Sound) and parameter is doing to that sound.

i'd like to open up the idea of a forum or tweaky topic where people can mention a particular Preset sound that they like and have SSC, or anyone else with the knowledge, explain how it was done, step by step, why particular Sounds were chosen in its creation, and the whats and whys behind each parameter.

for example, i could start it off by suggesting "Play Loudest Partials Only" Sound, which is one of my favorites.

the answers may be extensive, because there are a lot of parameters involved, but it's a fairly simple Sound in terms of number of modules (Sounds) involved.

it might be a fun way to learn in a slightly more "real world" or "in use" scenario than the Kyma manual involves... and someone's answer would most likely contain individual tricks, workarounds, or other useful information.

anyone willing to participate?

Sure, I'm willing to participate. Maybe create a new page called "Sounds Deconstructed" in the Learn section of the tweaky and the first subtopic could be "How does the Play Loudest Partials Sound work?".

i think it would be really helpful. i mean, maybe "loudest partials" isn't the best example.. it's pretty straightforward.. but the Hi and Lo track parameters and perhaps Hysteresis definitely are key.. and maybe could be focused on.

or, maybe there's a more complex Sound that could be "deconstructed"..

anyway.. the more help the better, i say!

this sort of "doing-while-seeing" approach.. could sort of be like a class.. people could follow along...

I'm new to Kyma so I wouldn't be able to contribute much initially, but I think the idea is fantastic! Great suggestion Taylor.

What a great idea; I will need to create a new folder to store all the goodies that could be available. Can a notice be posted on the forum when the Tweaky section is launched?
