I remember a while back someone trying to send sequences of CV and Gate out of normal audio outputs to trigger analog gear.. now Paca has a lot more audio outputs at her disposal, I was wanting to try this out for my new live show.

Any ideas about how to start converting frequency to voltage?

ah, I just found the old discussion - it talks about the Capy audio outputs filtering DC .. But now on the Paca that isn't the case right? Kyma the software does no Nyquist or DC filtering, from what I've seen on spectrograms of Direct to Disk recordings..

So, I guess most converters do fiter out DC - these intricate details are never posted on manufacturers pages or manuals anymore.

I'll try and get my head round this modulate box thing, but if there would be a simple solution, better.

most MOTU interfaces do not block DC....which is why their Volta works http://www.motu.com/products/software/volta

volta looks superb

but I can't run AU in Kyma! have to build from scratch

I have a TC Konnekt live - it says on the tech spec the freqeuncy response goes from DC to 24K - does that mean it can work??

Yes, in theory, the MOTU (and TC?) converters can output very low frequency signals...meaning that you could use Kyma Sounds as voltage control sources for analog synths.

sounds like it may work, yes.

you could perhaps send midi to a cv/gate interface if the timing precision of control signals is enough.

Simple test
Get a constant module, type in 1 play the sound and measure the DC voltage on the output connector of the converter.
