PacaConnect is a connectivity utility application for Mac OSX that adds bidirectional OSC communications and multi-network support to the "Midi merger" and "virtual MIDI port" features found in PacaMidi. With PacaConnect it is now possible to fully utilize Symbolic Sound's Kyma OSC support across multiple local networks. While PacaMidi removes the need for MIDI interfaces, mergers, and switchers, PacaConnect does this plus eliminates the need for extra routers and WiFi access points in many situations, and makes it easy to set up the highest possible, lowest latency WiFi control is desired.

PacaConnect transforms a Mac into a "communications nerve center" for the Paca or Pacarana sound engine. Its "PacaProxy" facility makes Paca/Pacarana OSC services available to any network connected to a Mac. On-stage networking can be set up with just a MacBook or MacBook Pro; no additional routers or access points are required. Studio set ups based on a Mac with built-in Airport receive the same simplifying benefits. Some examples of what PacaConnect can do for your Kyma workstation can be found here.

PacaConnect also includes all of the features of PacaMidi. It eliminates the need to add a MIDI interface to a Paca/ Pacarana, and one for the Mac to connect to the Paca/Pacarana. It offers the convenience of two always available external MIDI devices to control Kyma sounds, plus a "virtual MIDI port" that music applications can use to send and receive MIDI from Kyma.

PacaConnect is available immediately for $29.95 at www.delora.com. PacaMidi customers can "crossgrade" for $9.95 until the end of the year. Demo licenses are available upon request.

Perfect timing!

Perfect solution to let me use Kyma Control in my studio with getting additional equipment. Worked like a charm the first time without any additional configuration.

Delora Software just released KymaConnect, a replacement for PacaConnect. More information is available in a post by that subject, or you can visit the website to learn all about it: www.delora.com

KymaConnect requires a Mac running at least OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard). For those users still using a G5 or other Mac running OSX 10.5 (Leopard) we are still offering the original PacaConnect.
