![]() ![]() ![]() I have some further questions on the Walkthrough for Kyma 5.22. The questions center around the controller transformation icons: some seem to work, some do not (the spray can/jitter icon in particular, which I have yet to get to function); some, like the loop icon, seem to need deletion of the last controller point to work (the loop icon does not replicate the pattern when the last controller point matches the first controller point--i.e. both a 0.0). A reminder that I am running the software on an iBook with OS 9.2 installed. Thanks, Bob IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() After clicking the spray can icon, go into the controller editor and drag out a rectangle. The height of the rectangle is the size of the random deviations; the width of the rectangle controls the rate at which new random numbers are generated and added to the existing controller. The Loop icon takes whatever you have already drawn in the editor and repeats it for as many full repetitions as will fit in the remaining duration of the Sound that contains the controller. If the last point of your control corresponds with the end of the Sound, there is no room to repeat it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have drawn a rectangular box around the control points, leaving plenty of space, but I still do not get any jitter effect to the shape between the points. (One question: do I first engage the icon, as the tutorial seems to indicate, or first draw a box?) The spray can is becoming a bit of a bete noir, since it has resulted in errors that have forced me to trash two tutorial timelines so far. As to the loop icon, I will check again to see that I have deleted any controller point at the end. Thanks, Bob IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() The spray can affects the *entire* control function--NOT just the segment within the box. The idea of the box is to specify the deviation with the height of the box and the rate of change by the width of the box. Try it again but draw a narrow rectangle (much narrower than the distance between control points). IP: Logged |
