![]() ![]() ![]() The CAG microsounds are great and well worth exploring if you have a Capy, I miss them now I'm on the new platform. These microsounds were one of the big reasons I was seriously considering keeping my Capy and using it as an audio interface when I was looking at upgrading but I eventually decided to go with a 3rd party audio interface. ![]() ![]() ![]() In rel5 there was a file called ReleaseNote.txt which contains three step instructions. summarised: 1. copy all the CAG microsounds from rel5 and previous releases (which were included in rel5, previous releases also contained the earlier releases to that point) into one new folder which was then... 2. "assembled" by Kyma by clicking File/choose microsounds, navigate to the folder you had copied all the releases into and open one. 3. In Kyma click File/open and select Custom prototypes. Browse to the cagrel5 folder and open "CAGPrototypes.kym". This will display all the CAG modules in the prototypes bar. Hope this helps IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Do you see any new categories (in the list to the left) in the prototypes bar? You should see a new category called CAG or something similar (I forget exactly, it's been a while) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() In step 3 you need to browse to the cagrel(x) folder and open the file called CAGPrototypes.kym just that particular file. Then you should see the CAG prototypes in the prototypes bar IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Make sure you change the file type to "Custom Prototypes" in the File Open dialog when you go to open this file IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Sean...today was the day to check this back....so: i dont have any file called CAGPrototypes.kym in cagrel4. Just: • DemoDumpRel3 [folder] • LUT's [folder] • DemoDumpRel4 [folder] • AsyRelease1.kym • AsyRelease2.kym • AsyRelease3.kym • User Microsound Classes.asy • AsyRelease4.kym The weird thing is that if i open the.kym files...they actually open and i can use the saved sounds in that release....before i couldn't do this.....so...thank you! Where can i find the Rel.5 ? [This message has been edited by paralleke (edited 18 March 2013).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, re: CAGPrototypes.kym - if I remember correctly, it was only part of the CAGv5 release. CAGv5 was a paid product, unlike the first 4 releases. According to the Website it is not longer available, which IMO is a real shame as I still use it regularly and think it's an amazing piece of work. ![]() ![]() ![]() I see... Anyway...the weird thing is that i still have no Custom Prototypes in the Prototype's side bar... IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() To get a Custom Prototypes use File>Open, then enable "Custom Prototypes" as the file type. Then you can select a Sound file and it opens in the form of a Prototypes strip (along with the system prototypes). SoundCollections in the Sound file become categories in the strip. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I did this...but i cant see any 'new' strip within Prototypes IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() If there are SoundCollections in the file you are opening as a Custom Prototype strip, the names of the collections appear as new categories in the Prototypes. If there are no collection in your file, the Sounds in your file will appear in the Prototypes under a category named "General". IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hello! so i finally got it...infact i have that "General" side bar filled with Prototypes i choose from Microsounds release...thank you very much! My best regards, GiGi IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, this has helped me as well; however, some (not all) custom prototype sounds refuse to show up in the strip, despite being placed in the correctly named sound collection. Specifically, LogMagnitude, the beta Flame I/O prototypes, and any sound containing those will not appear when opened via custom prototypes. Other sounds in the same collection will display correctly. Are there microsounds or anything I don't have to make this possible? Or am I left to storing them in a sound that can't be opened as a custom prototype strip? Thanks, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks, we'll look into why that is the case. IP: Logged |
