![]() ![]() ![]() i hear the CM labs Motor Mix is a really great control surface for Kyma.. .and, according to the Kyma website it even automatically picks up on the controls in the VCS of your Kyma Sounds... which sounds like a great feature. anyone here have a Motor Mix, and can shed some light onto the other cool features? and what you may like about it when using it with Kyma.. i arleady have a Mackie control for Digital Performer.. so i'm not so into getting ANOTHER desktop piece to control Kyma.. but i'm curious to learn more about the Motor Mix's functionality with kyma.. thanks IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I've had one for a couple of years or so. As you say, it picks up the controls of the VCS, which is very handy. For me, the biggest benefit of having the MotorMix is the ability to grab and move multiple faders at once -- pretty hard with a mouse ;-) Its not a 'must have' item, but it is definitely a 'nice to have'. cheers, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() yeah, this is huge.. i have a Mackie Control that i use for digital performer.. and, frankly, i use it pretty much only for the transport controls and mixing/automation/faders... i don't use it for plug in editing or anything .. i much prefer plug in editing on the screen with the nice graphics and such.. but, having a device simply for mixing, setting levels and recording automation curves is really great. i'd imagine the motor mix offers a similar benefit. i'm not that keen on having 2 control surfaces on my desk.. i think the motor mix works fine with digital performer.. but i really like the mackie control... ergonomically.. are there any other benefits/features that the motor mix offers kyma? or is that pretty much it? not that that's not enough, i was just curious. anyone want to sell a motor mix?

![]() ![]() ![]() While the Motor mix provides motorised fader the Peavey PC1600 has non-motorised 16 faders instead of 8. Control surface is a must to me. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, I had no tabletop space left either after placing a Logic Control and 4 XT's, Apple keyboard, Wacom tablet, Contour shuttle, Tascam surround controller, yada-yada.... So, I constructed a small "roll-around" stand with an Oxygen8 at knee height and a Motormix a few inches above and back and angled toward me about 30 degrees. This has been great and it's nice to have the 2 controllers in close proximity when working in Kyma. Much more ergonomic. Now all I need is a Lazy-Boy recliner chair and I'll be all set!
