![]() ![]() ![]() I recently did a reinstall of OSX, and simply copied the Kyma folder from the old OS to the new. But Kyma won't start, saying "please make sure that your Kyma signal processor is properly connected to your computer". I've got a dozen of those messages in the past, as well, where randomly powering things on/off does the trick after a while (it doesn't necessarily work by doing it in the right order - PC first, then soundcard, then Pacarana). Now Kyma and Pacarana won't talk, no matter what I do. Its the same PC, the same OSX 10.6. What's wrong? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() "Kyma cannot locate the Paca(rana) or the Paca(rana) cannot find the audio interface We have had two reports of problems when one of the Paca(rana) FireWire ports is directly connected to the the computer's FireWire 800 port and the second Paca(rana) port is directly connected to an audio interface's 400 port. If this occurs, try moving the audio interface connection to your computer's 400 port or to one of the devices that is connected to the computer's 400 port." this is a quote from the twiki. Also you might try moving the fw800 cable on the back of the paca/rana to the other port FWIW i have found the fw800 cables don't seat very nicely in the socket or slip. i had the fw800 port (on a different device) break due to the weight of the cable. so i try to use something to support the fw 800 cable to keep it from sagging and the weight of the cable from pressuring the socket. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you - I've tried that too as well - my usual setup however (soundcard (FW400) <-> pacarana (FW800) <-> iMac (FW800) did actually work fine before I reinstalled the OS. Maybe the port itself is dead, but I doubt it. I'll test the paca with other macs soon. IP: Logged |
