I am using a M Audio UNO as my midi device. When I am using Kyma, the device is not recognized. In the Status window, Silent Device is the only option for midi input and midi output. If I open up Audio Midi Setup, the Midi 1x1 is listed and is shown as being online. I have several virtual synths (Native Instruments FM, Tassman) and these recognize the midi device and work. It's only the Kyma that seems to be having trouble recognizing it. I reinstalled the m audio driver but that didn't solve the problem. My specs are:

Mac Mini
os - 10.5.8

Try plugging the Uno into the USB port on the back of the Pacarana (instead of plugging into the USB port of your computer).

If you'd like to keep the Uno attached to your computer, you might try using Delora's PacaMidi application to send MIDI to the Pacarana over Ethernet.

I tried plugging the UNO directly into the Paca and still it isn't recognized. When I plug the UNO into my computer, a green led labelled usb lights up. However, when plugged into the Paca, the led does not light up. Is there some setting I might be overlooking?

The PacaMidi sounds like a viable solution. I have requested a demo and will post the results once I have tried it out.

Does the Uno require a driver on the Mac? If so, then it may not be 'class compliant'. (Someone had reported to us that it was working with their Pacarana, but maybe they had the model wrong?)

As far as I know, there are two models of Uno interfaces: an older one with a non transparent housing and a newer one with a transparent housing. I own an older one which does not work either; maybe itīs the one with the transparent housing, that works?

Yes, I believe the UNO does need a driver to work. My UNO is the older one with the non transparent housing.

I received a demo for PacaMidi and it works great. This is a perfect solution for my midi troubles. Thank you for recommending it!
