I have a 15" MacBookPro, which has only one FW port and no other slot where I could attach another one. My problem is, that I have a chain
MOTU 828MK3 -> PACA -> TC Impact Twin (for PACA)

I encounter problems, no matter in which order I am connecting the devices.

Do you know, if there is a way to connect everything on one Bus?

In general, it's best to avoid changing from 800 to 400 more than once in the chain. Have you tried Mac800-->Paca800-->TC400-->MOTU400?

I connected as you said (tried this before, too) and first it didn't work. As soon as Paca started up, I lost control over MK3 (Cue Mix FX showed strange configuration and changes didn't apply). When I turned Paca off, I got back the controls, but after a few seconds (when Paca turned off the FW bus), the MK3 was gone too. But when I turned Paca back on, everything was OK.

I think this is the solution:
Start CueMix before starting up Paca, so during the time Paca needs to start up, CueMix can settle the connection so it doesn't get lost again.

I repeated this one time and did also work, so I am confident now :-)
