regarding "SpectrumFreeze" (attachment): why is it that inversing the threshold results here in a number of "0.7"? It should be "1" or not? Thanks. Best, Florian IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Florian, It appears that the attached Sound may be different from the one you are describing (it's called 'GradualIn&decreaseEnv' instead of 'Spectrum Freeze')? IP: Logged

How can this be?? I'm sure that i selected the right one this time and i'm also sure that I copy and pasted the spectrum sound into this sound file. I'm puzzled. Is everything allright with this uploading procedure? Maybe it was in conflict with earlier uploaded versions of this same sound file? Anyhow, here a new attempt under a new name... IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() quote: If you select 'Threshold' and select Full waveform from the Info menu, you see alternating values of 0 and 1. Same thing if you select 'inverse' and Full waveform. But when you select the Stereo Mix 2, the sum of the two appears to alternate between 0 and 0.7. The reason lies in the pan function that is built into StereoMix2, which tries to do a constant-power pan, rather than a linear amplitude pan (which, psychoacoustically, tends to drop out in the middle). When both inputs are centered, the amplitude is ~ 2 sqrt / 2 or approximately 0.7. The solution is to use a simple Mixer, rather than StereoMix2. The Mixer just adds the two inputs together linearly (without any panning functions). IP: Logged |
