Author | Topic: ASCII text to PCM - HOW??!! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm constructing a sound in which I want to generate a series of pulses corresponding to the binary numerals that represent ASCII characters. I'm not a SmallTalk guru, but I might be able to write a script that does this if it is possible. Any help greatly appreciated. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() In the Scripts category of the Prototype strip, there's a Sound called TextToPitch that might be a good starting point. It's an example of reading a text file, character by character, translating each character to its ASCII equivalent integer and then using that integer as, in this case, a pitch parameter. Maybe you could use it as the period of a PulseTrain instead? IP: Logged |
