Hello ,

I' m about to buy a Paca to get a very light system. I don' t always need an external audio card. With the firewire , can I send the Kyma sound to an other software running on my macbook ? This way I could listen to it directly in my headphones .

Thanks

François

Not yet (but it is something we are working on with Apple)

Cool
A sort of direct monitoring via the mac's speaker would be great. Actually with the av/c I have to route every preset , it's a lot of time consuming.

I think I'd like the AV/C to work at the main IO routing level (like the audio interface now does) as well rather than as a sound that requires insertion.

First of all, for a very portable set up I find the Behringer UCA202 to work very well: very small, very light, very cheap, and fine for working on the move.

Now, what about a PacaLite: a Paca that connects to the host computer via USB (allowing netbook usage) and that takes its power from the host computer as well.....

If you **really** need AV/C I'd be willing to swap my Capy for your Paca

Scrap that last comment - I'm actually quite attached to my furry Capy!

...even though it might be getting long in the tooth... (which reminds me to buy some more wooden sticks for it to knore on)

MMMM between the Pacamidi thang, and the proposed AV/C, I guess our dreams will pretty much be realized....

I too am very attached to my Capy. I think it's converters sound great compared to many sound cards available today. It will continue to be used once I get a Paca.

Does anyone run the two systems together? (even if just to take advantage of the time-code inputs/clocking... ) I know there is a wee extra latency involved compared to other FW and especially USB latency. Any other thoughts?

I did wonder for a CRAZY moment about mounting the Paca/rana INSIDE the unexpanded Capy320, along with the flame interface.... Then I realised that I am a dufus.

Long Live SSC

Charlie

Yeah the OSC support, vM2 and PacaMidi really made connections soooo much easier and smarter. The audio routing using virtual audio device is the next thing and then we'll be in heaven. Maybe I already am. Pinch me.
