ParameterSequencer.kym

Hi,

You'll see in the attached sound a sequencer ("Parameter Sequencer - Beat-timed") which is sequencing parameters in the ExtraValues field.

I've noticed that if hot values which represent the sequenced values (!Cutoff1, !Pan1, etc) are updated when the sequencer is on that value's step, the change in the hot value is not heard until the sequence cycles around to it again. What I would like to do is have LFOs or something similar changing the hot values and hear the value change immediately. The second sound ("Parameter Sequencer - Beat-timed with LFO") is set up to do this, but you'll see that the filter stays where the LFO is when the step first is triggered.

I assume that this is a limitation in the way hot values work within the sequencer arrays. Is there a good way around this?

Also - an unrelated question about the same sound: you can see how I am using an expression in a SoundToGlobalController to set the !BPM value, based on the file's length. But if I change the file, I have to remember to change the expression both in the Sample and the SoundToGlobalController objects. Is there a good way I could set something up where I would only have to remember to change the filename in one object and the other objects that use that filename would be updated as well? Something like the way you could use a Constant object in multiple places and you would only have to change the Constant object once to change all of those fields?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil---One possibility would be to put the LFO directly into the Sound rather than in the AnalogSequencer values. In the AnalogSequencer you could put offsets or scale factors on that LFO so that each sequencer stage is different.

As for setting multiple instances of the filename, perhaps you could replace the filename with a green variable and set the filename (as a string) from a Script.
