![]() ![]() ![]() hello there, I dont know if the following setup is unusal or not, but I almost lost hearing twice when working in the past few days because of feedback !! My basic signal flow goes from konnekt 24d spdif out to saffire in via spdif coaxial.Saffire then uses regular analog out to speakers.I also use saffire spdif out to konnekt 24d in. basically im trying to use kyma as an effect box for now, not "only" for live input but also for "daw" signal. So for example I use a source loop I made in cubase, then sellect spdif out in channel properties and send it to kyma to do its magic. Then Id like to record said constellation back into cubase on a separate track that has spidf in selected in properties. The problem occurs on any type of effect that alters the signal just a little bit and feedback occurs instantly. On some more brutal effects it goes so far that I hear kyma or one of the interfaces (not sure which one) hard limiting the signal or even clipping it out to silence all together. There is a problem somewhere in the chain with volume, but I cant locate it.The only workaround Ive come up with for now, is to bring volumes almost to nil, but then i have to bring main monitor volume so far up I cant listen to anything else in the mix because its too loud. Im not bound to spdif, have no problem working with analog signal, so if there are ways to acheive this in the analog domain i dont mind at all. this is quite cruical to me, as I work as a loop designer on an independent sampling label, and would take me ages to bounce any idea in progres to wav just to see what kyma can do with it, to then realise its not a good starting material at all! regards and thanks for any input Andrew IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Does the Saffire have an internal mixer? It's possible that the S/PDIF input is included in the mix that is sent to the S/PDIF output. If so, then you should be able to change this using Saffire set up software. IP: Logged |
