Are you routing audio from Live through the Paca? Could you please describe how you have them hooked up to each other and what sample rate you are using? Thanks!

no, I don't route audio into paca, he should work as normal synth. therefore I route audio from paca through my konnekt24d into saffire pro 24 via adat. the sample rate is 48khz and saffire is sync master. then I select the corresponding channel in the audio track in live. I don`t use live's external instrument plugin it's the more traditional way with a midi track is sending data to midi out and a audio track is receiving audio from input. there are no cpu spikes and dsp hiccups.

Do you have a second ADAT connection from the Saffire output to the Konnekt input? Also, do you have the Clock Source in the Kyma DSP Status set to ADAT?

Could you please confirm that you are running Kyma version 6.731?

In Preferences>Performance could you please try setting the Input to Output delay to 10 ms and try your example again? Thanks!

10 ms was adjusted under input to output in the performance menu. I will do some delay settings in live, focusrite control and kyma and tell you my experiences.

hi aries, if I may interfere

I had a similar problem.I have same setup as you, except I use the saffire pro 10.

Maybe your audio dropouts arent hardware/performance dependant, but simply this: If the input to kyma is too loud it happened to me a couple of times, that it simply cut off audio for couple of seconds, then played it again normally. It can also be that your spdif outputs are feeding part of your inputs, creating a feedback loop, which kyma also (at least in my case, though I have a PAcarana) cuts out.

so try this :

a)Run the loop through the audio in Sound in Kyma, which only plays back the input without any FX, so you see if the problem is performance or connections.

if you still have the problem, Im out of ideas, but if the sound plays without drop outs try these :

b) make sure the bottom fader (input/playback balance to spdif outputs) in saffirecontrol Pro panel is to the right, and playback 9+10 is selected
c)lower the volume to almost minimum on the ableton track you have problems with and see if you still get drop outs

hope you get anywhere with this

andraz

snapcontrol.zip

thank you, andraz! I think that could be the answere. first i played a sample in generic source and got 2 dropouts in 10 minutes. then I have tried to switch off the input channels in saffire control (see attachment) and there are no dropouts anymore. but I hope that is the solution for the future :-)
