There is an option to write your own software to send data directly to Kyma via the FireWire interface. You can use a couple of C routines to send parameter values as if they were MIDI controllers (except that they can have a higher data rate and are more accurate!) This is how Lippold gets the Continuum to communicate 10 fingers-worth of 3-dimensional control to the Capybara without MIDI delays and with enough accuracy to represent continuous pitch changes.
