Not wanting to dim the love going on in the Buchla post I decided to raise this as a separate post as I've seen this issue before with complex sound structures.

When viewing a complex structure in the sound editor I experience sluggish display performance - scrolling around in the top half of the sound editor is very difficult as the scroll bars can take up to a few seconds to update and the displayed area to redraw. This is more apparent when the sound is playing although still very noticable when not.

Hiding areas of the sound structure does alleviate the problem but sometimes I want to see it all particularly when exploring complex sounds.

Perhaps this is a PC only issue. Mac users please chime in.

One way to alleviate this is would be to encapsulate parts of the sound but that can be a fair bit of work and often is not the path I would preffer to go down.

Your thoughts?

Sean

I haven't seen it. Do you have a patch to post that it does it on?

Hi bar|none
If you are a Mac user that would kinda answer my question in one hit Any of the sounds in the Buchla discussion do it.

Cheers
Sean

No they don't give me any trouble. I have a MacPRO though with a pretty powerful graphics card on snow leopard and 12gb ram.
