![]() ![]() ![]() I would like the timeline to change the VCS preset so that the presents are synchronised with the flow of the timline. ie. present 2 at 2 mins and preset 3 at 3:30 etc I can see how to send MIDI Program Change messages from an external source to do this, but I can not see how to do this internally - from the timeline. Suggestions, advice more than happily received :-) garth IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() In the Timeline, on one of the tracks, you could schedule a SoundToGlobalController with Value set to the desired preset number and GeneratedEvent set to !ProgramNumber. For a quick example, please see Schedule Preset Changes in Timeline]. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It does not work for me- do I have to change the midi channels (I also tried this, but there are several possibilities) or something else? Franz IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It does not work for me- do I have to change the midi channels Possibly... The channel on which you generate the program changes should match the channel on which the VCS receives MIDI program changes (which you can set from the DSP>Configure MIDI menu). There is a menu just to the right of the TimeCode label at the top of the Timeline editor where you can select the MIDI input channel for the Timeline receiving ProgramChanges. This channel should be different from the channel on which you are sending VCS program changes. In the VCS, program changes cause a change in the preset; in the Timeline program changes cause the time cursor to jump to a specific marker. ![]() ![]() ![]() Just bringing this post to the top of the stack again as the use of !ProgramChange in a SoundToGlobalController is a brilliant way to automate VCS settings in a timeline during performance and in my excitement I wanted to remind others of this great function Cheers, Garth IP: Logged |
