![]() ![]() ![]() A) I am getting into using the "stuff you want ignored" within expressions, I knew it must exist, yet was not searching in the right terms. What is the correct definition? Tis very useful to backtrack from failed expression experiments. B) I noticed for the first time today that midi controllers-cc's (it appears) can be used independently from the VCS. I assume it is defined in the global map. However, ModalFilter Vocal Formants KBD, I can move the ModWheel on my controller and it sweeps the formants! Awesome. I noticed there is no Formant type parameter on the VCS, thus shattering my preconception that if you needed a midi CC control, you need to have a VCS item. I rummaged in the sound to find lots of use of the !KeyTimbre, I then checked the Global map: "!KeyTimbre is: `MIDIKeyTimbre." I don't understand the link to the Midi CC 1 I can see in other parameters in the global map that they have obvious CC's attached. Definitely missing a trick somewhere. Many thanks Charlie IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Perhaps because it is a relatively new trick (i.e., recently added)? Thank you for noticing it and making good use of it! ![]() Under the DSP Menu, Configure MIDI, you can map !KeyTimbre to any MIDI controller number. This means you can design keyboard controlled Sounds for the Wacom tablet eraser, the Kyma Control app for iPad, and the Continuum, all of which have !KeyTimbre controls, and still play them with standard keyboards and sequencers (by remapping !KeyTimbre to a MIDI cc). ![]() ![]() ![]() Regarding the stuff you want ignored, could you use comments to temporarily remove stuff from the expression? In Smalltalk, comments are placed within double-quotes, for example, in: !KeyDown ramp: (2 s "* !ScaleDur") the multiplication by !ScaleDur would be ignored. IP: Logged |
